We have a vision for our future. By 2025, Anchorage is the #1 city in America to Live. Work. & Play.
This is the vision for Anchorage in 2025:
LIVE by 2025 Anchorage will provide a robust spectrum of employment opportunities with affordable housing, health care education and access to world class recreational and cultural facilities.
WORK by 2025 Anchorage will have a consistent business environment of resource development and information technology, offering low unemployment rates, with household incomes and standard living continuing to be some of the highest in the country. Our new intellectual property industry is the envy of many regions dependent on dwindling natural resources.
PLAY by 2025 Anchorage has a rugged and healthy population because our homes are within a short distance of parks and trails that provide a natural outdoor experience. We participate in the very cultural and sporting events in which we are also spectators.
Live. Work. Play. is a grassroots effort focused on community improvement and engagement for the people who live here, it is NOT a marketing campaign or a slogan.
Live. Work. Play. is NOT new. Most cities in America have some sort of Live. Work. Play. initiative or campaign. The difference is we are actually measuring our city and how we rank against the largest cities in each state including the District of Columbia (51 cities).
Live. Work. Play. is NOT in competition, taking the place of or trying to re-create Big. Wild. Life. We love Big. Wild. Life., it is our brand!
UPDATE: The Live. Work. Play. Film Competition screening and judging has been postponed. The LWP film screening will be rescheduled for a time in late September to coincide with the Live. Work. Play. Annual Event featuring a celebrity guest speaker. Film submissions have been extended to September 14th. If you have any questions please call 258-3700. Stay tuned for more information.
