AEDC Releases 3 Year Outlook

The 25th Anniversary of AEDC was celebrated on July 25th, 2012 with over 1300 business professionals for the 2012 AEDC Annual Outlook Luncheon at the Dena'ina Center with keynote speaker Professor Robert Reich.

AEDC released the 2012 Three-Year Outlook Report along with the first ever Anchorage Consumer Confidence Report (ANCi).  Anchorage gained 3,300 jobs in 2011, up 2.2% from 2010.  Employment is at 1,517 jobs above the same period in 2011 for the first six months of 2012.  AEDC forecasts employment growth of around 1% for 2012 with an increase of 1.2% annually for the next three years. The first ever Anchorage Consumer Confidence Index (ANCi) was also released at the event. The ANCi measures Anchorage households' confidence in the health of the local economy, their personal financial situation, and their expectations for the future. The index showed positive for Quarter 2 reaching 58.4, an increase of 0.03% from Quarter 1. The ANCi is compiled by Northern Economics and sponsored by KeyBank, the report can be downloaded here.
