Anchorage ranks 34th in Children's health magazine's Best Places to Raise a Family List

Evergreen Films announced today that the company has signed a development deal with New York Times bestselling author, Dana Stabenow to bring her popular Kate Shugak, Alaska P.I. mystery series to television.

In an article titled "America's Best Places to Find a Job 2009" by U.S. News & World Report, Anchorage ranks as one of the top ten places to find a job during our tough economic times. Citing the jobs added in the education and health services, and government, as a factor responsible for its listing, the article also points out that the large energy industry worked as a buffer to the recession that has hit the rest of the country. Anchorage Economic Development Corporation has a new address

After many years, the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation is moving. Beginning Tuesday, Sep. 22, AEDC will be located in the Peterson Tower at 510 L Street, Suite 603. Both phone and fax number for the economic development agency will remain the same, 258-3700 and 258-6646, respectively.

Bill Popp Presents 3 Year Economic Forecast & Mid-Year Update at ACVB Luncheon

Anchorage - Bill Popp, AEDC President and CEO presented AEDC's Mid Year Economic Report and 3-Year Economic Forecast to the Anchorage Convention and Visitor's Bureau today at the Dena’ina Center. During the lunch time presentation Mr. Popp stated that, “Flat is good” but went on to point out that although the Anchorage economy is predicted to flatten out in the remainder of 2009 and start to grow over subsequent years, the tourism industry is in for harder times.
